This all comes from repressed femininity
& wounded masculinity...
We were taught to be good girls, boss babes, queens, seductresses or to just be chill. We were taught that our inner world was too much, too inconsistent, too irrational.
So we all ended up in this weird pretzel of repressing our feminine and trying to be what the world taught us is feminine
And in a world that rewards wounded masculinity, we built armour over our wild hearts. Cause it seemed safer. Cause the world understood us more with it. Cause life seems to demand it from us. And so we do all the holding, managing, achieving, performing, thinking, trying to control our feminine so she doesnt mess up our plans too much (also those of us that have done the work..)
and oh my. did we get it wrong.

And I was there hun.. big time..
Before this work, I lived in a completely different world. I was a data scientist, successful, bad ass, driven, charming, and I could carry my own suitcase.
I was the rock for many. I wanted to be there for everyone. I always made sure everyone felt comfortable and seen. I was so caring.
I thought I was everything a woman should be. But I was actually so exhausted. And I didn't get why.
I didn’t see that I was actually so much in my masculine. Overperforming, carrying it all by myself, and working so hard on fixing all these 'problems' that kept me from everything I wanted.
I would go for the biggest 'alpha' in the room, to somehow still end up in relationships where I wasn't being chosen,.
I was in a string of not-so-great relationships with men that couldn't seem to meet me. Men that thought I was dramatic, wrong. Men that judged me for what I needed or wanted.
And no matter how much I tried to ask for things the right way, I just seemed to be pushing them away more.
I did not trust men. I knew exactly where they needed to be better, do more, step up. I wanted so badly those strong arms around me, but I made each man fight me to get there.
I thought being feminine meant being sexy & being there for everyone.
And then came the years of therapy, embodiment, polarity teachings, tantra, shadow work. You name it, I did it.
I knew my patterns.
But here’s what no one tells you: Even after all that, the boss babe will still kick in. The good girl will still kick in. We will still have the most creative closures and the most creative ways to maybe look feminine, but be in fear and control. And our bodies will continue to protest.
So here I was.
- Performing femininity to get him to choose and claim me
- Still trying to be the put-together one who knows all her patterns and can communicate well
- Still watching out if he is meeting my 'good masculine' checklist
- Still meeting men that were too nice, or with no space for anyone but him, or that couldn't match me
It was humbling to see that the ache wasn’t gone. Even the most self-aware women still carry wounds from fathers, partners, the collective.

Today, my life is unrecognizable.
Not because I became really good at being feminine, but because I removed even the most subtle layers of shoulds.
And I had a full on break of every pattern.
